Brookside Estates is a community of over 400 families located in northwest Franklin County, situated between Dublin and Worthington, approximately ten miles northwest of downtown Columbus. Neighborhood boundaries are Route 161 to the south, Snouffer Road to the north, the railroad to the east and Brookside Woods to the west. Brookside Golf & Country Club divides the area into Brookside East and Brookside West.
Brookside Estates is located primarily in Perry Township which operates under the guidance of four elected non-partisan resident officials. Three are trustees, and the fourth is the fiscal officer. The Perry Township administrative offices are located at 7125 Sawmill Road, Dublin. Township zoning is administered by a zoning inspector. Police protection is provided by Perry Township, while fire services are provided by the Worthington Fire Department. Additional assistance is provided from other jurisdictions when needed.
The Worthington School District serves Brookside Estates. Public schools serving the immediate area are Brookside Elementary, Perry and Phoenix Middle Schools, and Worthington Kilbourne High School.
The majority of Brookside Estates is connected to the Columbus water system with sewage disposal under the administration of the Franklin County Department of Sanitary Engineers. Some homes have private wells and septic tanks. Natural gas is available through several providers by way of the Columbia Gas transmission system. Electricity is provided by AEP, and telephone and cable service is available through various carriers. Refuse collection is through a private company contracted with Perry Township. Leaf collection, snow removal and spring brush and branch chipping are provided by Perry Township.
